Organizing Your DNA Matches Using the Leeds Method

My newest class, “Organizing Your DNA Matches Using the Leeds Method” is coming up soon!

Join us as we learn how to organize your DNA matches using this simple, effective, color-coded method. The goal of the Leeds method is to help you identify groups of DNA matches that may share a common ancestor.

Organizing Your DNA Matches will be held on Thursday, August 20, at 6:00 pm. You may join the class by clicking the Zoom link below.

If you would like the handouts, just send me an email at novygenealogy@gmail.com and I will be happy to email them to you.

I hope to see you on Thursday!

Genealogy Classes

Organizing Your Genealogy Video

This has been a week of firsts. I conducted a Zoom class on Organizing Your Genealogy a few days ago for about 16 participants. I was pretty nervous about technological issues, but it went very smoothly. I feel much more comfortable now about offering classes digitally!

I intended to record the class as well as I had several people who were interested in attending, but were not able to due to one reason or another. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to push the record button, so that didn’t happen.

So, today I sat down and recorded the class as a test to see how it works. Somehow it turns out shorter when I am not talking to actual people.

I would love for you to watch the video and give me your feedback. Email me at novygenealogy@gmail.com, and I will send you the handouts that go along with the video.

Free Download – Research Checklist PDF

Working as a genealogist, I sometimes get overwhelmed with the amount of information I find.  Then I have to dig through the piles of paper or digital files to find a particular piece of information or to determine whether I have already found certain data.  To help myself keep up with what I know about a particular person, I created a form to record what I know on it.  This Research Checklist helps me see what I already know at a glance and is a good visual to see what types of information I don’t have yet.

If you would like a copy of this form, just click on the link below!
